We entered the Qi Gong State and proceded to a guided meditation and imagery piece on the Core Self, the real you beneath all of life's history.
We talked about the Core of ourselves being untouched by the vicissitudes of life, that the Core of us is unharmed and untouched by the hardships, disappointments and losses we may have incurred upon our way.
The Core of us is perfect and complete; it comes alive, is activated and becomes a conscious part of us as we focus our attention on it. Some might call the Core self the Soul. It is the real and perfect you that is infinite in its grace, compassion, love and strength. The Core has unlimited positive energies. We feel our Core whenever we feel good... whenever we are acting in our Bliss.
The Core of who we are cannot be harmed; the Core has perfect strength. As we dwell in our Core, we are safe. Nothing bothers us as we are this Core. We feel only the strength of who we are--a perfect and unassailable strength.
When we feel weak and vulnerable, we are not in Core Consciousness. We are confused and being taken away from ourselves. But Core Consciousness rarely begins alone, and often is the consequence of asking for help or wanting a better situation of thought, feeling and meaning for ourselves.
It does take work and it can be difficult to move out of hardship, fear and confusion to the Core of Who We Are... but what better to do? Do the work and Qi Gong and be an effective part of that work.
Every cell of our bodies has a Pure and Perfect Core Nature... As we focus on the perfection of our bodies and our cells, that perfection comes alive and expresses. When we look to ourselves in perfection, wellness and joy... our eternal nature comes out into our lives.
Harshness and hardship can shut down this Core, can hide the Core of us away;and we can loose awareness of this essential nature, the deep true and accurate nature of our real selves.
A student in class shared how a young innocent girl exclaimed, with joy, that she was a "gift to the world"! This girl knowing this and meaning this in a most natural way, without embarrassment.
When you know and have contact with the Core of who you are, you know you are truly a gift to the world... and the world is a gift to you to live in.
After class we talked about unfortunate peoples of third world countries who virtually have no reason to hope... their situation does not appear to provide options of improvement or opportunity.
Adversity and hardship, however, often gives rise to character and virtue of unimaginable quality. Suffering is part of life, and it is through suffering that we have the Great Opportunity. When we are completely powerless to change our condition, our health or circumstances... we may then look deeper into ourselves for a quality or resource we never had. We may ask for help in a certain way that gives rise to a faith of unimaginable proportion.
Most of us would never look for greater Inner Resources is we never had a reason. Pressure is a gift, stress and hardship are opportunities to bring more of who you are into existence, to seek greater connection with the Creation.
Qi Gong evolved as a response to hardship, disease and injury. It is thousand of years old and is practiced today in China by millions where it is simply an accepted means of health maintenance. Doctors of Medical Qi Gong are plentiful and practice in hospitals in China without notice, without being unusual.
Out of hardship, injury and disease has come a system of health and exercise call Qi Gong.
We are usually most willing to learn new ways of living, when our typical ways fail us. There is nothing like calamity, injury and poor health to get us looking for solutions. We can recede into a victim state of mind, which is really loss of self... or we can rise to the thought that there is a way out.. and there i. But that way out, is first, to go within and find the peace of who we are and to connect that peace with all of life.
As we find our Core Selves, as we focus upon this deep identity it comes alive. Unconditional love, compassion, forgiveness and perfect strength spontaneously arise within us as we see the perfection of ourselves everywhere in life around us.
